Wee Ones

What is Wee Ones?
The Wee Ones Care and Share program is sponsored by Saylorville Baptist Church in conjunction with several Des Moines area churches. The event is organized by a team of moms in an effort to improve the quality of life for women and children in our community. Proverbs 31:20 says “She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy”

In 2007, the program’s first year, 61 families attended the event and three individuals trusted Christ as their savior. In 2008, Wee Ones exploded and in all, 188 families, totaling more than 600 people, attended the event and heard the gospel. Seventeen individuals made salvation decisions and another 37 expressed interest in follow-up Bible studies. In 2009, 162 families attended the Wee Ones event totaling more than 500 people. 51 of these were pregnant women. Over 344 children received essential items they needed. Eleven salvation decisions were made and another 44 individuals were interested in learning more about God and/or follow-up Bible studies. 2010 we were able to serve 214 families totaling almost 700 people. After hearing the gospel, 27 people accepted Jesus as their Savior!

Who Does Wee Ones Serve?
Wee Ones aims to serve young parents in need. The focus being primarily on young women who are currently pregnant or parents with children under the age of three. We have the ability to serve both English and Spanish speaking parents.

How Can I Get Involved?
We collect new and gently used baby items year-round to prepare for this annual event. Please prayerfully consider a donation of any of the following items. If you’d like to donate, please contact the Wee Ones team at 515.289.2395 (option 3).

    ~ Baby clothes (size newborn – 4T)

    ~ Diapers (size 1 – 4)

    ~ Wipes

    ~ Baby bottles

    ~ Blankets, sheets, burp cloths

    ~ Baby gear (car seats, swings, strollers, high chairs, pack n’ plays, etc.)

    ~ Baby furniture (cribs, changing tables, dressers, rocking chairs, etc.)

    ~ Miscellaneous (infant Tylenol®, Desitin®, baby wash, etc.)

Host/Hostess Training Day (Spanish):
