The Heart of a Servant and the Life of Prayer
May 27, 2010

What does it look like to have a servant’s heart at home? At work? In the church? In the world? Pastor Abe Miller teaches us about what makes the heart of a servant and outlines practical ways to make an impact for Christ through serving others. And in the second half of this module, Pastor Chuck De Cleene and others will equip you practically to develop a life of dependent prayer. Teaching from both Biblical principles and personal example, they will instruct you on the life of prayer.
This class meets Sunday nights at 5:30 in the fellowship hall and is taught by Abe Miller & Chuck De Cleene.

The teenage years are full of exciting changes, huge growth, and new opportunities for teens. And the teenage years are also filled with sleepless nights, worry, and struggle for any parent. Pastor Kevin Thomas, our Counseling Pastor, and Pastor Brad Pausley, our Student Ministries Pastor, are teaming up to equip parents to seize the incredible opportunities of parenting in the teenage years.
This class meets Sunday nights at 5:30 in the Coffee Cove and is taught by Kevin Thomas.
What Christians Believe
May 27, 2010

Why can I trust the Bible? Who is God? Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going? What is wrong with the world and how can it be fixed? These crucial questions are the subject of the module: “What Christians Believe”. This class gives people inquiring about Christianity a chance to understand more about Christian beliefs. For those who are new believers, this class lays the foundation for life as a Christian. For those who have been Christians for many years, this class will equip you to be able to better explain and defend your faith to others. “What Christians Believe” is a class for everyone because everyone needs answers to the central questions of life.
This class meets Sunday nights at 5:30 in the main auditorium and is taught by Pat Nemmers and Mark Vance.
Men’s Memorial Day Bike Ride
May 9, 2010
Every year Saylorville hosts a Men’s Bike Ride on Memorial Day morning (May 31st). Come to fellowship with other men and to stretch your body & your mind. This year we are riding the High Trestle Trail to Madrid trail starting at 7:00am from Mike Woehl’s house (see directions below). Ride as far as you wish but we will begin eating breakfast (steak, eggs, rolls, juice & coffee) at 9:00am and testimonies begin at 9:45am. We plan to be done around 10:30am. If you wish to ride the entire trail, the total round trip is 3-4 hours. You will either need to start earlier or you will miss breakfast.
We are also making a special welcome to men who have no desire in riding but want to come to fellowship and eat. We still need you to sign up so that we can plan for food.

Faith Lift: Proclamation 2010!
March 27, 2010

We hope you were challenged and encouraged in the area of evangelism! Judie Colyer from Ankeny E-Free Church spoke to us from God’s Word and shared many of her life examples of how the Lord has led her to share the gospel with many of her friends and neighbors. Judie’s stories inspired and lifted us up as we heard how she took a desire to witness to an action obeying the Lord to just do it! God has blessed her actions with many souls that are now on their way to see the Savior!
We hope you enjoyed your weekend of encouragement, fellowship, and fun for Faith Lift: Proclamation!
If you missed any or all of the event or would just like a copy of all four sessions, order CDs online here!

Inside Out
February 24, 2010
The youth are starting a new 8 week Bible study tonight at 4:30pm. This is separate from Wednesday night’s “The Mix” that starts at 6:30pm. Nine students have previously signed up and will begin a study called “Crazy Love” by Francis Chan. This study focuses on walking deeper with Christ. Please be praying for these students as they study God’s Word.

Also, a meal is provided each night for this study by volunteers from the church. We are still looking for people to provide meals. If you can supply a 9 person meal by 5:30pm at the church for one of these nights, please contact the Youth Pastor, Brad Pausley at brad@saylorvillebaptist.com.
