Baby Dedication

There will be a baby dedication on Sunday, January 22nd in both morning services. This is open to all parents who want to dedicate both themselves and their child to God. Just show up Sunday morning and be prepared to come up on stage with your child as Pastor Pat gives you a short challenge.
Membership Class
January 9, 2012
Membership class is the place to find out what Saylorville Baptist Church is all about and what it takes to become a member. During the class we cover things like church history, what we believe, finances, ministries and staff. Coming to class doesn’t automatically make you a member, but in order to become a member you must attend membership class. Class will be Wednesday, February 1st at 6:30pm in the Coffee Cove area. The class will last for 3 hours. Pie and beverages will be provided.

Anticipation. We all virtually live our lives by it. We anticipate seeing a friend, getting off work, an upcoming birthday, a vacation get-a-way, that first cup of coffee in the morning, and….Christmas. If you were told God Himself was coming to visit, what kind of anticipation might build up in you? One man was told exactly that! Join us to discover the joy he experienced when he met Jesus and his anticipation was fulfilled.
There is a service Christmas Eve at 5:30pm and Christmas morning at 8:30am. Both services will be identical. The 8:30am service is the only service on Christmas day.

Ladies, join us for Rejoice on Saturday, December 3rd at 5:30pm at Saylorville Baptist Church. Rejoice is an evening filled with dinner, music and sharing as we rejoice in the work of our Savior.
Harvest Service

The annual Harvest Service is coming up on Sunday, November 13th at 5:30pm. This year we will be commissioning Greg and Laura Pollak as our new church planters to Altoona as well as taking up an offering to go toward the start of this new church. As a reminder, this year we will not be doing a potluck in order to accommodate more people to attend. Instead, coffee and dessert will be provided. Please be praying as to how you will give toward the start of the new church plant launching in January.
Men’s Retreat 2011

Golf is $35 per person and includes 18 holes, cart and lunch. – Please prepay at the table in the coffee cove
Make checks payable to: Saylorville Baptist Church (for both the retreat and for golf)
Please bring your own bedding, pillow and towel. You can bring a tent to sleep in but the cost is still the same. There will be showers available to use and are covered in the retreat cost.
If you would like to stay in a hotel we have 10 rooms blocked off in Clear Lake for our retreat. Each room has 1 queen bed and is $65 plus tax. Please talk to Abe Miller if you are interested in staying in the hotel.
There will be a van leaving from Saylorville Baptist Church at 5 pm on Friday night. If you would like to ride in the van please sign up here:

10:30 am Golf Tournament. 4 Man Best Ball. Shot gun start. Rice Lake Country Club. Cost $35. Includes box lunch, 18 holes, and a cart.
5:00 pm Flag Football Tournament
5:30 pm Pizza Feed starts and goes until 7:15 pm
(mini golf, frisbee golf, basketball, floor hockey, ping pong and carpet ball will all be available during this time)

Ladies Night/Guys Night Out
The guys will be eating at the church with smoked meat from Stu and hearing from several of our men missionaries. Ladies, you will be hearing from several of the missionary wives at this dinner at The Tournament Club of Iowa. There are three dinner options to choose from when you sign up listed below. Sign up and pay Sunday between the morning services in the Coffee Cove. Childcare will be provided for those attending.
The Arnie – tea and lemonade marinated chicken breast on cracked wheat, peppered bacon, swiss cheese and avocado mayonnaise with sweet potato fries
Rice Bowl (chicken or beef) – stir fry vegetables with a lemongrass sesame sauce, choice of chicken or beef served with steamed jasmine rice
Tournament Dip – house roasted prime rib shaved and bathed in herbed au jus on ciabatta hoagie with sauteed onions and maytag white cheddar with steak fries

Backyard BBQ & Car Show

The annual Backyard BBQ & Car Show will be held June 25th on the south lawn of Saylorville Baptist Church. It will include free food, games and car show. The car show starts at 11:00am, a free lunch is at 12:00pm and awards will be handed out at 2:00pm. All neighbors, friends and family are welcome! Summer Schedule & Time Change

The morning services have now moved 30 minutes earlier. The first service now starts at 8:30am and the second at 10:15am with the Coffee Cove between the two services. Evening activities have also been suspended until the fall.
